The Institute for the Protection of Terrestrial Infrastructures aims to ensure society's resilient supply. Digital twins facilitate monitoring, crisis response, and analysis of infrastructure resilience.

What You Can Expect

The creation of digital twins involves complex, costly manual modeling. Automating this process using AI methods to convert electrical plans and data sheets into structured digital formats is the goal.

Your Tasks

  • Familiarization and literature research on image-to-graph methods and digitization of technical plans
  • Creation and processing of (synthetic) datasets for plan detection
  • Implementation and training of deep learning algorithms to extract information from electrical diagrams
  • Comparison of transformer models with conventional deep learning frameworks
  • Scientific analysis and presentation of research results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Willingness to learn complex topics
  • Basic knowledge in machine learning
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of deep learning, ideally in computer vision
  • Experience with Python libraries such as PyTorch, OpenCV
