Job Description:
The Finance team at HPE provides world-class decision support, driving profitable growth and exceptional shareholder value through operational excellence, people development, and innovation. We provide accurate and timely financial information, meeting regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities with unwavering integrity.
In this in-house Tax Manager position, you will:
- Prepare and file highly complex tax returns for the organization
- Lead and manage tax audits
- Advise the company's global functions on tax matters
- Guide businesses on reducing tax liabilities, establish compliance procedures, and communicate with senior business leaders
- Lead tax planning activities, including forecasts and research involving complex issues
- Research and document company-wide tax systems
- Respond to notices from tax authorities and interact directly with them
- Collaborate with external tax advisors

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- First-level university degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of related experience
- Advanced knowledge of income tax laws for corporations
- Successful Tax Advisor Certificate ('Steuerberaterprüfung')
- Strong communication, leadership, consulting, influence, and negotiation skills
- Exceptional financial and business acumen
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams
- Fluency in German and English
