Crafting the right VoIP solution with the right equipment and sof tware requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced VoIP engineer who knows how to design, secure, and optimize the voice systems the Air Force depends on.
As a VoIP Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience with the implementation of VoIP services, STEP or Teleport SATCOM operations, configuration of Palo Alto Firewalls, and implementation and functionality of security devices, switches, and routers of different vendors. You will be working as part of a team across three sites to configure, design, document, administer, and troubleshoot all aspects of classified and unclassified VoIP services, including troubleshooting network issues, configuring Palo Alto Firewalls, working with SATCOM systems, and providing cybersecurity support. You’ll upgrade and modernize enterprise voice infrastructures, troubleshoot and resolve complex VoIP issues, analyze existing systems for performance and security gaps, and increase the reliability, resiliency, and availability of mission-critical communications.
Your knowledge of VoIP systems, call signaling protocols, cybersecurity for voice services, emerging telecommunication technologies, and network configurations will be vital as you drive modernization and operational excellence. As a t rus ted advisor, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing the VoIP infrastructure, as well as ongoing management of it, in-depth knowledge of Cisco Call Manager or Cisco Technologies, understanding of LAN, WAN, or SATCOM networking and how VoIP relies on it, Cisco Call Manager ( CUCM ) , Cisco Voice Gateways, SIP Trunking, expert knowledge of Cisco IP telephony solutions, designing or maintaining VoIP architecture, installing VoIP hardware, and troubleshooting voice issues. This role requires shift work to provide 24 / 7 operations spread across three sites to support the tactical user including configuring SIP trunks and firewalls for tactical user access as outlined by the SAR or GAR process.
You will be responsible for the installation and configuration of network and VoIP equipment consisting of Call Managers, Palo Alto Firewalls, switches and routers, and the installation of sof tware, including CUCM, vSphere, and others, as required. You will monitor mission operations to ensure there are no voice issues with the tactical user. When required, you will troubleshoot hardware or sof tware malfunctions on routers, switches, firewalls, and servers. You will deploy and support the hosted resources on the deployed system, including virtualized compute ( VMs ) . You’ll install Operating System firm ware, sof tware, patches, and upgrades and provide Systems Administrator ( SA ) support to VoIP system operational databases, sof tware configuration control, and system interface for the VoIP system. You’ll develop and implement a change management process to handle system updates, modifications, and enhancements and maintain a detailed configuration management database ( CMDB ) to track all assets, changes, and configurations. You will perform security assessment reports and risk mitigation plans, as well as documentation of applied security patches and updates.

You Have:
Experience implementing secure solutions
Experience working with vSphere and call manager operating systems
Knowledge of security best practices, including security protocols, authentication, and authorization
Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux
Knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network security
Ability to design a VoIP network, install the VoIP network, configure the VoIP network, and operate and maintain the VoIP network
Ability to configure Palo Alto Firewalls
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with VoIP, or 5+ years of experience with VoIP in lieu of a degree
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ with CE or CCNA Voice Certification
