Job Description:

The Business Development Team in Central Europe focuses on growth in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. We lead efforts in sales and proposition development for Public Sector clients, covering areas such as commercial cards, SME business, transactional banking, cross-border, new flows, fintech, and strategic partnerships, which are key drivers for Visa’s growth.

As a Business Development professional in the Public Sector, you will influence strategy and execute related objectives. You will collaborate with Visa clients, partners, and internal teams across various regions.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the development of strategies and market plans for Government Disbursements and Acceptance.
  2. Engaging with Municipalities, Public IT Providers, and State-owned entities to identify needs and introduce solutions.
  3. Building a network within the Public Sector to develop and manage relationships with issuers, Payment Service Providers, GovTechs, and other partners.
  4. Working with local and regional teams to implement strategies, increase payment volumes, and secure revenue.
  5. Gaining expertise in Visa’s products, especially Government solutions, to support client objectives.
  6. Creating collateral and content for internal and external use, collaborating with partners.
  7. Using a consultative sales approach to educate stakeholders about Visa’s capabilities.
  8. Reviewing the Public Sector payment landscape and developing growth strategies.
  9. Developing and implementing sales and account plans to increase market share and sales volume.
  10. Managing the sales pipeline and reporting opportunities.

This position is hybrid; specific in-office days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in payments and financial services sectors.
  • Knowledge of issuing and acceptance solutions in Central Europe.
  • Understanding or interest in Public Sector Payment ecosystems.
  • Creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and a learning mindset.
  • Consultative sales experience and stakeholder education skills.
  • Negotiation skills for business agreements.
  • Ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Open-mindedness and enthusiasm for future technologies.
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in German and English, both speaking and writing.
