6G aims to revolutionize network architecture, integrating satellite systems, Low-Earth Orbit constellations, HAPs, UAVs, and more, within a concept called TNTN. ICAS will enable perception of these complex networks through sensing, supporting AI automation architectures. The project will train 10 doctoral candidates in this innovative environment.
The DC will focus on designing PHY and MAC layers of TNTN radio access networks to combine communication and sensing, including radar functionalities based on beamforming. Responsibilities include developing algorithms, verifying through simulations and proofs of concept, and contributing to standardization efforts.
Position: DC07, Title: ICAS-related beamforming for 6G Unified 3D Networks. The project involves developing beamforming techniques, coordinating multi-static deployments, and investigating algorithms for clutter suppression, with implications for 3D network architecture and standardization.
Apply via the 6G-TERRAIN website and Nokia careers page. Include a cover letter, CV, proof of English proficiency, certificates, transcripts, and other relevant materials.
