GMV, an experienced technology group, is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team. You will play a key role in space mission ground systems, designing and validating secure, high-performance networks in collaboration with engineers and mission teams.

What will you be doing?

  • Design, validate, and maintain secure, high-performance network infrastructures supporting ground systems for space missions.
  • Develop and implement network configurations, support system integration and validation, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure operational readiness.

Main responsibilities include:

Network Integration & Validation

  • Design and implement Layer 2/3 network configurations including VLANs, IP subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and multicast.
  • Execute network validation procedures such as latency profiling, throughput benchmarking, and failover simulations.
  • Support AIV campaigns by provisioning and validating connectivity across testbeds and operational networks.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response

  • Perform deep packet inspection and root cause analysis to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
  • Apply security patches, reconfigure firewalls, and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Network Architecture & Documentation

  • Maintain network topology diagrams, IPAM databases, and configuration repositories.
  • Document test plans, change requests, and rollback procedures.

Monitoring & Automation

  • Deploy and tune monitoring systems and log aggregation platforms.
  • Develop scripts and playbooks to automate tasks and ensure configuration consistency.

Change Management & Risk Assessment

  • Evaluate the impact of network changes and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Validate new configurations in simulated environments before deployment.

What do we need?

  • Expertise in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Experience in enterprise or mission-critical networks, preferably in aerospace, defense, or satellite ground systems.

Required skills:

  • Proficiency in Ethernet, VLANs, STP, ARP, IP, TCP/UDP, OSPF, BGP.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet devices.
  • Knowledge of firewall configuration, IP routing, and network segmentation.
  • Familiarity with multicast, QoS, and high-availability environments.
  • Advanced English skills, strong analytical and diagnostic abilities, and good communication skills.

Preferred experience and certifications include:

  • Experience with space ground systems like Galileo Mission Segment.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIS, Network+.

Note: Periodic travel is required.
