Project Engineer BESS - (C&I) - Remote / Hybrid - Germany

Your Role :

As Project Engineer – C&I BESS, you will play a pivotal role in the technical development of commercial and industrial battery storage projects. You will be the first dedicated hire in this area, with potential to grow into team leadership as the company scales.

Your responsibilities include :

1. Leading technical project planning, especially regarding grid connection and substation upgrades.
2. Supporting early-stage development: assessing site suitability and electrical feasibility.
3. Interfacing with DSOs and grid operators to manage connection approvals and technical negotiations.
4. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across development, EPC, and permitting functions.
5. Supporting equipment specification, layout planning, and overall project execution.
6. Traveling to project sites and stakeholder meetings throughout Germany.

We’re looking for a driven and proactive electrical engineer with a strong understanding of grid connection and system integration. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.

Your Profile :

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• Solid knowledge of medium voltage systems, grid connection processes, and substation design.
• Experience working with DSOs / grid operators in Germany.
• Comfortable identifying technical needs at new sites and translating these into actionable designs.
• Fluency in German is essential (daily interaction with grid operators and authorities).
• Independent, entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Background in BESS or Solar preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and negotiate effectively.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Germany.
