Your team

You will be part of the Fit & Proper Division in the Directorate General SSM Governance & Operations. The division assesses the suitability of management and key function holders in Significant Institutions, working with national authorities and other supervisory bodies.

As an Analyst, you will contribute by preparing supervisory assessments, evaluating leaders’ suitability, drafting proposals for decisions, and promoting digitalisation and innovation to strengthen collaboration across European banking supervision.

Your role

In this role, you will:

  1. Establish and maintain contact with strategic partners, including ECB counterparts, national authorities, and external partners.
  2. Support in preparing presentations and briefings for decision-makers, and contribute to analyses, reviews, and benchmarking activities.

In the Fit & Proper Division specifically, you will:

  1. Contribute to the preparation of risk-based assessments of management and key function holders.
  2. Prepare proposals for decisions by ECB bodies.
  3. Develop horizontal analyses and policy stances to support the division’s work.
  4. Contribute to automation and communication efforts with an innovative mindset.
  5. Participate in horizontal projects, develop new policies and IT tools, and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, economics, finance, or related field.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience in banking supervision, financial regulation, or related areas.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and processes.
  • Strong drafting, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced (C1) command of English and intermediate (B1) in at least one other EU language.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of European banking supervision.
  • Experience with process automation and IT solutions.
  • Interest in working in a multicultural environment and abroad.

You should demonstrate collaboration, analytical skills, stakeholder awareness, and motivation to serve the EU citizens and contribute to the ECB’s mission.

Working modalities

This role involves short-term international travel, teamwork in multicultural settings, and the use of multiple EU languages. Part-time arrangements can be discussed.
