About:
We are a remote-first climate tech start-up based in Germany that uses technology to advance the vision of a net-zero economy. Our goal is to simplify calculations of carbon emissions, enabling companies to make data-driven decisions to reduce their carbon footprint efficiently, with transparency and control over their emission reports.
As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will collaborate with our engineering team on developing software for a national research project called DiCES. This project focuses on modeling the future of used products to balance economic and ecological constraints, facilitating quick decisions on heavy hardware products within a circular economy framework. Responsibilities:
- Work with the tech stack: NestJS, React, Tailwind, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, Postgres, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Implement high-quality, well-tested code to improve our SaaS platform user experience
- Participate in code reviews to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including engineers and product owners, to shape product requirements
Ideal Candidate:
Who you are:- Based in Germany with a valid EU passport or EU work permit
- Hold a Bachelor's degree (required)
- Confident and self-sufficient in navigating a startup environment
- Practitioner of servant leadership, committed to mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Curious and eager to explore new technologies and scale MVPs to production
Skills & Experience:- Minimum 2+ years experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS, Postgres, Git (Postgres is essential)
- Experience with automated testing tools
- Ability to evaluate suitable technical solutions for business problems
- Familiar with modern architectural patterns and design systems
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Not a fit if:
- Located outside Germany
- Lacking experience working in small engineering teams
- No experience with Postgres
- No track record of working on Proof-of-Concepts or MVPs
- Unfamiliar with Agile practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in startups or Climate Tech
- Knowledge of monorepos, microservices, message queues
- Experience with calculations and decision-making algorithms
- Advanced database skills beyond CRUD
- Data-driven, product-first mindset focusing on UI/UX
- Test-Driven Development mindset
- Interest in Circular Economy
- German language skills (minimum B2)
