Your future responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to drive high-quality, industry-relevant research in the implementation of machine learning and signal processing algorithms, along with associated electronic sensor solutions.


Your Leadership responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of 8–10 scientists within the Embedded Artificial Intelligence group of the Intelligent Wireless Systems Division, focusing on machine learning and signal processing across various domains and applications.
  • Shape the research agenda and project portfolio in collaboration with team members, peers, and the Head of Research Unit.
  • Drive innovative solutions through effective team leadership and expert coordination.
  • Manage resource planning and allocation for the research team.

Your Scientific responsibilities

  • Acquire and lead research projects with various industrial and academic partners, including proposals for national and international funding.
  • Work on research projects and support the team with long-term expertise in relevant fields.
  • Supervise the team to generate high-quality research outputs, scientific excellence, and economic impact.
  • Collaborate closely with academic and industrial project partners in joint research projects.
  • Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students.
  • Publish and present research results in scientific journals, international conferences, summits, committees, and relevant events.

Your profile

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Applied Physics, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with a specialization in digital IC design for machine learning or signal processing applications.
  • At least 6 years of practical experience in one or more of these areas.
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years of team leadership in industry or research.
  • Strong social skills to inspire, develop, and motivate young scientists and researchers.
  • Well-organized and able to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; German is an advantage.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) in occupational group G (G1 salary = EUR 5,546, paid 14 times a year). Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. We offer a gross salary ranging from EUR 85,000 to EUR 120,000 annually, based on an all-in contract and bonus.
