Company Overview

This is a new role within our EASA Part 21J Commercial Modifications Team based in Hamburg, Germany. The team collaborates globally with members in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Frimley, UK; Dublin, Ireland; Istanbul, Turkey; Munich, Germany; and Kiev, Ukraine.

Role Summary

Boeing Global Services seeks a multi-skilled Seat Integration Engineer (Experienced or Lead) (M/F/D) to support the design and certification of aircraft seating products. The role involves working with the Boeing Commercial Airplanes business unit to produce Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for post-delivery installation of seating products.

This position may require occasional travel domestically and internationally, with hybrid working options available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review supplier data for seat integration approval, including drawings, plans, test reports, and reports related to flammability, lifevest retrieval, and seat trim.
  • Approve non-TSO seat components.
  • Compile Layered Overall Product Approval (LOPA) drawings.
  • Conduct direct view analysis.
  • Coordinate with Boeing teams to ensure correct aircraft cabin delivery for seat installation.
  • Compile seat installation Service Bulletins (SB).
  • Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with global engineering teams to address engineering requirements for cabin interior projects.
  • Serve as a technical focal point for seating integration and certification issues post-production.
  • Represent Boeing in customer meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR, and FAI, providing on-site support during project embodiment phases.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in related commercial aircraft design fields.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience within the aerospace industry with an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organisation or equivalent.
  • Understanding of EASA, CS-25, JAR-25, and FAR 25 regulations.
  • Experience with aircraft interior modification programs, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with OEM data systems.
