We are looking for an experienced consultant / engineer in the area of Underground and Submarine Power Cables to strengthen our Power Cable Team.

DNV is expanding its activities in asset management, driven by the installation of wind farms and interconnectors where underground and submarine power cables are crucial. These projects involve quality assurance and failure analysis.

As a Consultant / Engineer in Underground and Submarine Power Cables, you will be part of the Power Cable Team in the Asset Management & Digital System Operation Department within PowerGrids. You will help our customers achieve sustainable, world-class asset management performance.

You will provide engineering and consultancy services mainly to customers in Germany, with opportunities to participate in international projects. You will be responsible for managing and acquiring projects in the power cables field, gradually developing an understanding of our market and delivering high-quality content.

Responsibilities

You will report to the Energy headquarters in Arnhem, Netherlands. Your focus will be on the German market, with the German home office located in Dresden. We support hybrid work arrangements and promote a healthy work-life balance.

The salary for a senior position is in grade 8 or 9, based on experience and skills, within the DNV Germany salary framework. The salary for a principal position is in grade 10 or 11, similarly determined.

This is a full-time, indefinite contract position.

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with solid skills and knowledge of power cables, capable of developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients such as grid operators, power plants, and industries.

• At least 8 years of experience in underground and/or submarine power cables.
• An academic degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven skills in power cable engineering design and quality assurance.
• Good knowledge of IEC standards and CIGRE guidelines.
• Ability to lead international projects and serve as a trusted partner to clients.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly, with enthusiasm for challenging tasks.
• A strong professional network in the energy industry.
• Recognized expertise in cable-specific skill areas.
• Initiative, adaptability, excellent teamwork, and willingness to share knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
