We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Life Science R&D department. You will develop mechanical components for mass spectrometers, overseeing the process from concept to production documentation, ensuring seamless transition to manufacturing.

A day in the Life:
- Design and develop complex mechanical parts and assemblies for high vacuum and ion optical components.
- Collaborate with international, interdisciplinary teams.
- Participate in product development and project planning.
- Prepare production documentation and test procedures.
- Support installation, testing, and verification of mechanical parts on instruments.
- Contribute to cost analysis and supplier qualification.
- Engage in Change Management (ECO) and Quality Control during product commercialization.

Keys to Success:
Education
- University degree in mechanical engineering or related fields
Experience
- Extensive experience designing high-quality mechanical parts and assemblies for complex systems
- Knowledge of Product Development Practices, Processes, and Tools, preferably in analytical instruments
- Proven experience in 3-D solid modeling, SolidWorks preferred
- Experience with scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or semiconductor systems
- Strong background in mechanical design, manufacturing, and materials
- Experience in ‘should cost’ analysis
