Associate Medical Director – Germany (Home-Based)
Global Biotech | Strategic Medical Leadership | Multiple Indications
Location: Germany – Fully Remote
Company: Global Biotech with $1B+ Annual Revenue
Reports to: Country Medical Director
About the Company
Join a high-growth, innovation-driven biotech with a global footprint and a bold pipeline. With over 23 new indications planned over the next 5 years, this is a rare opportunity to shape strategic medical plans at a critical inflection point. The company combines deep scientific innovation with a patient-centric mission—and is now expanding its senior medical team in Germany.
The Role
We’re looking for a strategic Associate Medical Director who can act as a right hand to the Country Medical Director and GM—someone who brings clarity to complex launches, knows how to map KOL networks, and has experience across multiple therapeutic areas.
This role is about setting the blueprint: medical launch planning, pipeline shaping, thought leader engagement, and driving cross-functional alignment to ensure each new indication is clinically and commercially successful.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to the GM and Country Medical Director on medical plans across current and future indications.
- Build and maintain national KOL networks, driving medical advocacy and scientific exchange.
- Shape launch strategies for new indications—from pre-launch planning to post-launch optimization.
- Identify evidence generation opportunities including clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and real-world evidence.
- Collaborate with global medical affairs, regulatory, HEOR, and commercial teams to align on country-specific priorities.
- Contribute to budget planning, event strategy, and medical activities to maximize impact.
- Provide cross-functional medical leadership and mentorship across field teams (MSLs, Medical Advisors).
Ideal Background
- Proven track record in Medical Affairs, ideally in roles such as Medical Advisor, Medical Manager, or Associate Medical Director (position could be upgraded to Medical Director for people with exceptional fit and motivation).
- Open to MSLs who have worked in the below indications and want to step up in their career.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas (e.g., CNS, Neurology, Immunology, Inflammation). Candidates with strong cross-indication experience are preferred over single-focus (e.g., if you have only worked in oncology your entire pharma career).
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to think across launch phases and pipeline scenarios.
- Deep understanding of German healthcare system, KOL landscape, and medical affairs best practices.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, matrixed environments with global interaction.
- Language: German is a plus but not essential.
- Travel: This is home based but of course includes some site and conference visits.
Why Apply?
- Influence the medical strategy of one of the most exciting pipelines in biotech.
- Work closely with executive leadership on country-level strategy.
- Flexibility both in role and how to achieve your goals.
- Join a company that blends global resources with an agile, entrepreneurial culture.
- Be part of a journey to bring 23+ indications to market—across rare, specialty, and high-impact therapeutic areas.
If you're ready to step into a strategic role with real impact—let’s talk. All conversations confidential and open - it's about finding you the right job.
