Join to apply for the Compensation & Benefits Global Leader role at JetBrains

At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we have been striving to make the most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create. Millions of users enjoy our products, and we have several offices around the world, including in Prague, Munich, Amsterdam, Berlin, Limassol, Belgrade, Warsaw, Boston, and Shanghai.

We care deeply about the people who build our products and support our mission. As part of that, we’re rethinking how we approach compensation and benefits – not just adjusting systems, but reconsidering our philosophy and frameworks from the ground up.

We believe compensation is more than numbers – it’s a reflection of what we value. Your work will help define how JetBrains supports autonomy, mastery, and long-term impact across diverse teams and geographies.

We’re now looking for an experienced C&B expert to lead this shift and not only manage and evolve our C&B function but also challenge assumptions, bring new ideas, design new solutions, and build trust across the organization. At JetBrains, we believe in the power of innovation, and this role is no exception to that philosophy.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and implement scalable, adaptable compensation and benefits frameworks from the ground up.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to leadership on compensation design and rewards philosophy.
  • Lead the ongoing development and execution of JetBrains’ global C&B strategy.
  • Translate business needs into practical compensation and benefits solutions across multiple geographies.
  • Leverage benchmarking and market insights to shape competitive offerings and reward systems. Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team ensuring that we can attract top talent.
  • Oversee compensation reviews, bonus programs, and job grading structures.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with the newly implemented HRIS to drive data-informed decisions and analytics.
  • Monitor regulatory developments related to the EU Pay Transparency Directive and take the lead in translating legal requirements into actionable compensation policies in operating countries. Develop transparent pay frameworks, conduct gender pay gap analyses, and support communication strategies across locations.
  • Prepare data and reporting packages for internal stakeholders and external audits as needed.
  • Support managers and employees in understanding compensation structures and policies.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of hands-on experience in compensation and benefits, ideally in both in-house and consulting roles.
  • Have successfully designed and implemented C&B systems in international, fast-growing environments.
  • Are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing structure with flexibility.
  • Are able to establish partnership relationships with C-level executives and perform stakeholder management effectively.
  • Have strong analytical skills and the ability to take action when required.
  • Can engage credibly with executives and guide decisions using data and insight.
  • Are confident working across borders, cultures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Have experience in the countries where JetBrains operates (the Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Armenia, Poland, and Serbia) – this is a plus and not a must.
  • Fascinating work in a friendly team.
  • A comfortable working environment with ergonomic workstations and leisure facilities.
  • Six weeks of paid vacation (local regulations apply).
  • Subsidized Urban Sports Club membership.
  • Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development, including travel to professional conferences worldwide, access to the LinkedIn Learning platform, and more.
  • Additional benefits include a daily lunch allowance, a range of commuter benefits, free refreshments and snacks in the office, team events, and much more.
  • Hybrid work from your home in any location where JetBrains' offices are.
