This role is based in Wolfhagen, Hessen.

Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so our customers receive their items on time. As an Area Manager, you'll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high-quality standards, while managing various projects across our network to drive productivity.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Create, oversee, and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
  2. Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
  3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance customer service quality within your area
  4. Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions for operational excellence
  5. Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices
  6. German language skills (C1-level at least) are mandatory

A Day in the Life

You will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality and shift standards, overseeing process improvements, and driving implementation. Your day will be varied, including team management, operational duties, process improvements, and contingency tasks. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people management
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications are not required but are a plus:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience working in another logistics environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
