Description

We are delighted to announce an opportunity to join the Alternative Heat team as a Contracts Manager, assisting in the delivery of our Data Centres Projects.

Due to our continued success in this sector across Europe, UK & IRE, we are now a leading manufacturer in delivering Chilled Water Systems as offsite modular packages, including modular plantrooms.

We seek an individual with experience in a data centre environment who can bring innovative ideas to sustain our growth and development.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of building relationships with clients, safeguarding the company's interests, and contributing to team development and recruitment plans to meet project standards and milestones.

Strategic planning skills are essential to analyze workloads, assess capabilities, identify risks, and explore growth opportunities.

Commercial awareness to evaluate monthly reports and scope discrepancies is required.

The candidate should be able to lead teams, collaborate across departments, and uphold the company's core values throughout all business and project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the site management team to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients via online meetings and on-site discussions.
  • Ensure efficiency of managers and site teams, with clear objectives for target dates.
  • Verify that all drawings are the correct revision.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure proper documentation and planning tools are in place.
  • Procure plant and equipment according to specifications and client needs.
  • Monitor costs (materials & labor) to adhere to budget targets.
  • Assess labor and subcontractor requirements for installation work and team expansion.
  • Conduct weekly internal meetings to address critical project elements.
  • Provide accurate contract variation and monthly claim information to the commercial team.
  • Participate in monthly performance reviews with the Operations Manager and department management.
  • Assist with commissioning and ensure all documentation and certifications are completed post-project.
  • Work with the client to ensure safety standards and high-quality work.
  • Track project performance weekly through progress reports to the client.

Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Willingness to travel within the EU.
  • Extensive planning experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
  • Experience with major construction projects in the Data Centre Sector.
  • Self-motivated team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and credibility.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Degree in a relevant design or construction field.
  • Understanding of MEP systems is advantageous.
  • Membership in a chartered institute or equivalent is beneficial.
