As our next Senior Offshore Cable Installation Manager you will integrate into, and work as part of, the wider Engineering Department to support global offshore wind projects at all lifecycle stages. You will work every day with an exciting and diverse team who push the boundaries and set the standards for cable installation amongst our peers. You will develop, innovate, optimise and then manage the execution of T&I solutions within our offshore wind projects that will ensure we deliver on our promise of a sustainable future.

    Your key tasks and responsibilities

    As a Senior Offshore Cable Installation Manager your primary responsibilities will be

    • Development of Offshore Wind Farm subsea cable installation plans for RWE Renewables’ future projects working as part of a team of experts for Foundation Installation, Cable Installation, Wind turbine installation and other areas of offshore wind farm installation
    • Support procurement activities for the subsea-cable installation packages of our offshore wind farms.
    • Act as an Offshore Cable Installation Manager within our Offshore Wind Farm Construction projects
    • Driving best practice for time scheduling, budget control and interdisciplinary coordination of offshore construction activities
    • Driving best practice for budgetary proposal processes with domestic and international offshore construction companies
    • Support procurement with preparation of contracts and vessel charters with offshore construction companies
    • Technical and commercial assessment of different installation methodologies and equipment
    • Driving cross-project review of cable installation concepts and knowledge exchange
    • Discover synergies between different projects end actively share knowledge with other projects to get the best results for the complete portfolio

    Essential skill requirements

    • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Master Mariner or closely related areas
    • Strong experience in development and construction projects of offshore wind farms
    • Deeply founded understanding of tendering and contracts used in subsea cable installation.
    • Strong Project Management experience in offshore logistics
    • Strong intercultural communication and negotiation skills
    • Proven track record in offshore wind project management and package management
    • Strong team player, self-starting and highly motivated
    • A flexible approach to work and willingness to travel
    • Ability to work offshore and at heights
    • Fluent spoken and written English

    Desirable skills

    • Experience in subsea cable repair would be a plus
