The University Hospital Bonn (UKB) is a maximum care hospital with more than 1,300 beds. Our more than 9,000 employees are engaged in research, teaching, patient care, and public health at the highest level. In the science ranking (LOMV) and in economic results, the UKB is the top university hospital in NRW and had the third highest case mix index among university hospitals in Germany in 2021.
The following 65% part-time position is to be filled as soon as possible in the research group Neurohomeostasis, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the University Hospital Bonn:

Due to third-party funding (Volkswagen Foundation), the position is limited to 3 years.
Our research focuses on understanding the links between stress, proteostasis, and cellular function, aiming to identify therapeutic targets for neuropsychiatric disorders. We take a multidisciplinary and translational approach, combining cell models, animal experiments, and human studies with protein biochemistry, pharmacology, and multi-omics techniques. The project challenges traditional views of depression by investigating peripheral mood engrams, including metabolomic and proteomic changes outside the brain and plasma transfer experiments.
