Health Safety Environment Supervisor

Project : Salzgitter / Lower Saxony, Germany, specialized in the production of quality hot- and cold-rolled flat products.

This project involves the erection of a new DIRECT REDUCTION PLANT and Water Treatment Plant, including mechanical, piping, and electrical erection, commissioning, and hot testing.

Duration of the contract : October 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Work Schedule : 8 hours/day, 5 days/week initially for approximately 7-8 months. During the commissioning and start-up phase, the schedule will shift to 6 days/week, 8 hours/day.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with the Site Manager and the Commissioning Manager throughout the project duration.
• Have adequate capacity and authority to coordinate and implement the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System adopted by the client.
• Review the safety documentation provided by the client (Safety and Coordination Plan or similar) and ensure compliance with local laws.
• Develop and maintain the Health and Safety Plan in cooperation with HSES.
• Organize regular safety coordination meetings with proper documentation.
• Conduct emergency mock drills according to site configuration and emergency plans.
• Perform safety compliance inspections, prepare reports and recommendations.
• Temporarily halt activities if safety conditions are inadequate.
• Organize Toolbox Talks to address safety criticalities and recovery procedures.
• Report any unsafe behaviors or conditions.
• Implement Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out systems during commissioning.
• Organize safety training sessions as needed.
• Manage incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
