Upway's mission is to make e-mobility accessible to a wide range of people. Our goal is to build the largest and highest quality e-bike range by sourcing and reconditioning the best e-bikes.

Germany has become our largest market, and to support our growth, we are looking for an Operations Lead. The Operations team’s role is to create the largest and highest-quality e-bike offering for Upway shoppers, by sourcing the best e-bikes, refurbishing them, and delivering them to their new owner in a seamless customer experience.

The Operations Lead, Düsseldorf will be responsible for owning the operational flow of our UpCenter in Düsseldorf, our newest UpCenter. This includes managing all the teams in our UpCenter, including middle management, setting priorities, managing the UpCenter P&L and operational targets, building processes to optimize operations, analyzing data to understand and bridge gaps, and working closely with the rest of the company to provide best-in-class experiences to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead a strong team of managers, operation associates, and bike mechanics
2. Define targets, priorities, and strategy
3. Own the UpCenter P&L/budget, ensuring targets are met
4. Analyze data to find optimization opportunities
5. Design and implement processes to optimize operational flow and financial efficiency
6. Set up tools and dashboards for accurate operational insights
7. Collaborate with other teams to support fast growth and expansion

What you will need:

1. Strong academic background
2. 6+ years of experience in Operations, Consulting, Finance, or similar
3. Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus
4. Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze data and manage details
6. Comfort in a fast-paced, changing environment
7. Attention to detail and operational excellence obsession
8. Full accountability for complex operational scope
