Manager grade - Senior Document Management Specialist to take technical ownership of a highly regulated Financial Services enterprise document management and document distribution systems, with a focus on IBM FileNet Content Manager .

This role involves managing and optimizing IBM FileNet Content Manager and document distribution systems to support the organization’s growth. The candidate will take technical ownership of these solutions, overseeing the software development lifecycle (SDLC), performance testing, and IT service management (ITSM) processes, while maintaining hardware, Linux / MS Windows operating systems, and relational databases. Key responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, second-level support with external vendors, and ensuring scalability and compliance. Ideal candidates will have 6-8 years of experience in ECM systems, fluency in German and English, strong SQL and OS skills, and a passion for working in agile, inclusive teams, with preferred experience in JIRA, ServiceNOW, and cloud-based ECM solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Ownership : Manage and optimize IBM FileNet Content Manager and related document distribution solutions, including underlying hardware, operating systems (Linux / MS Windows), and relational databases.
  • Software Lifecycle Management : Oversee all phases of the SDLC, including test preparation, performance testing, software rollouts, and ongoing production support.
  • Performance Optimization : Conduct performance testing and application optimization to ensure scalability and resilience of document management systems.
  • Second-Level Support : Analyze and resolve incidents, collaborating closely with external vendors (e.g., IBM) to address technical issues and implement updates.
  • System Maintenance : Manage databases, operating systems, and security policies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Agile Collaboration : Work in agile, cross-functional teams to deliver projects and operational improvements, leveraging tools like Atlassian JIRA and ServiceNOW.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in the software / IT industry or financial services, with a focus on enterprise content management (ECM) systems, ideally IBM FileNet Content Manager.
  • Proven expertise in SQL and managing relational databases (e.g., IBM DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and MS Windows operating systems, including server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance testing, application optimization, and managing the SDLC for enterprise applications.
  • Business Stakeholder Engagement : Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Fluent in German and English (both written and oral) to effectively communicate with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNOW).
  • Experience with FileNet administration, customization, or migration (e.g., to FileNet Cloud Pak).
  • Familiarity with FileNet APIs, Content Engine, or Process Engine for solution development.
  • Agile mindset with a passion for working in cross-functional, dynamic teams.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for learning and staying updated with industry trends.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and ServiceNOW for project management and ITSM.
  • Knowledge of IBM Content Navigator or other FileNet-related tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based ECM solutions (e.g., IBM Cloud Pak for Data) or migration projects from on-premise to cloud environments.
  • Understanding of financial services compliance and regulatory requirements for document management.
  • Exposure to other ECM platforms (e.g., OpenText Documentum, Hyland Nuxeo) as a complement to FileNet expertise.
