About Your New Job

  • Management of all commissioning responsibilities on site. This includes the setup, management, and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project.
  • Management of direct reports. Oversee commissioning and testing personnel on site.
  • Management of the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures. Ensure proper tagging and documentation.
  • Reporting Progress. Provide updates on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally.
  • Chairing meetings. Lead weekly commissioning meetings and daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning.
  • Hosting meetings. Conduct the General Contractor and clients' weekly commissioning meetings and report weekly progress.
  • Development of the Project commissioning schedule. Collaborate with project planners.
  • Management of “Lock Out – Tag Out” Processes and procedures. Ensure safety and compliance.
  • Management of Area Control Permits. Oversee areas under control, primarily Electrical Switch rooms.
  • Compilation of all Testing and Commissioning Documentation. Verify and sign off on all results.
  • Familiarity with Project Commissioning Schedule. Coordinate with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineers, and Client requirements.
  • Tracking staff and costs. Ensure all testing and commissioning staff are tracked and manage costs associated with your package.
  • Management of sub-contractor activities. Track progress against schedule and staffing levels.
  • Close out of all project items. Support from Electrical and Mechanical package managers.
  • Weekly look ahead. Ensure coordination with vendors and trades.
  • Issue internal weekly progress report. Highlight progress percentage complete and any concerns.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary. Document progress visually.
  • Develop strong professional relationships. Engage with the Client, Client Representatives, and Vendors.
  • Manage the BIM 360 CDE Commissioning Digital Environment. Oversee digital documentation and processes.

What Skills You Need

  • Degree in Engineering. At least 5 years’ experience in a commissioning manager role on large-scale industrial projects or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Extensive Commissioning knowledge. Familiarity with typical Mechanical and Electrical systems associated with Data Centres.
  • Understanding of building regulations and European standards. Knowledge of codes and practices.
  • Ability to manage and execute a full IST. Previous experience is essential.
  • Development of IST documentation. Manage completion on a digital platform.
  • Excellent organisational skills. Effective at prioritising tasks to achieve project deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills. Clear and concise in all communications.
