Field of activity
The basic and cross-sectional area GQ 1400 DRV-IT rvSystem is responsible for developing the core IT system of the German Pension Insurance — reliable, secure, and future-oriented.
Our department includes management, development, and cross-sectional teams for the existing core system, including online services for policyholders, as well as project management and teams for ongoing agile large-scale modernization projects. We value teamwork characterized by cooperation, respect, and non-discrimination.
- Strategic and operational management of the department, overseeing personnel and technical areas for about 200 employees.
- Planning, controlling, and monitoring development processes using key figures, processes, and methods.
- Implementing change processes in core IT system development, such as transitioning to agile methodologies.
- Developing employees' methodological, technological, and procedural skills, ensuring standards and quality compliance.
- Fostering motivation, personal development, and loyalty among employees, and participating in recruitment.
- Developing and implementing innovative solutions and approaches.
- Representing DRV Bund on internal and national committees, including ministries, regarding fundamental and cross-sectional tasks in pension insurance.
Your profile
- University degree (Master's or comparable) in computer science, business informatics, legal informatics, mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering.
- Extensive, relevant professional experience with leadership in IT, focused on software development.
- Deep, up-to-date knowledge of standards, programming languages (e.g., Java; Cobol is desirable), and software development technologies.
- Practical knowledge of common control instruments and management tools in software development.
- Experience managing large IT projects.
- Knowledge of relevant legal areas, such as data protection and IT security; familiarity with social security or administrative law is a plus.
- Excellent German language skills; good English skills.
- Strategic thinking, structured work approach, success-driven creativity, and assertiveness.
- High adaptability and innovation willingness.
- Strong communication skills tailored to target groups and customer orientation.
- Willingness to travel across Germany regularly for several days.
