The Amazon EUSC Process Engineering (PE) Team is looking for a proven technical leader with extensive experience leading continuous improvement projects in applying planning and engineering principles to operations. This role involves developing and implementing process improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution industry.

As a PE, you will collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including operations, network planning, labor planning, and service performance, to design and improve our Sort Centers' under-the-roof flow processes, challenging existing operational standards. Your skills will be applied in areas such as:

  1. UTR Flow continuous improvement, tech integration, and implementation.
  2. Applying engineering principles, developing processes, and enhancing operations.
  3. Building strong relationships across peer organizations to further business objectives.
  4. Managing complex, quick-turn projects with sound business judgment.
  5. Defining business models to track improvements over time.
  6. Assessing process improvement and transformation opportunities, scoping projects, and defining problem statements and objectives.
  7. Training, coaching, and mentoring field operations teams to leverage tools and systems effectively.

Our Process Engineers work organization-wide to solve complex problems and innovate for our customers, ensuring solutions deliver a seamless experience. Strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making are essential. You will lead initiatives independently and with your team, impacting our growing business significantly. Candidates should be strong leaders with the ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and deliver results. Experience in creating and presenting documentation to senior executives and aligning roadmaps with Amazon’s strategic goals is required. Proficiency in data analysis, root cause analysis, and leading teams with advanced analytical and quantitative skills is also necessary. Willingness to travel up to 30% is expected.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and implement UTR Flow continuous improvement initiatives and technology solutions to innovate and increase efficiency.
  • Audit processes for compliance and address gaps.
  • Analyze feedback and data to own and execute process improvements at the site.
  • Collaborate with operations customers and stakeholders to identify and resolve flow process issues.

A day in the life

Your role will include conducting observations and audits to identify process enhancements, recommending changes, and managing projects to implement new processes. You’ll be based at a site, responsible for improving operational efficiency, with potential analysis at other sites. Sharing ideas across the EU network and using data to drive improvements will be key to your success.

About the team

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is vital to Amazon’s delivery speed. As part of ATS, you’ll join a diverse team that manages air, sea, road transport, and sortation centers with cutting-edge technology. They use data to make decisions, prioritize safety, and ensure efficient delivery of packages.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics, or a technical field.
  • li>Relevant experience in supply chain, transportation, project management, or management consulting.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and using Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Proficiency in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA from an accredited university.
  • Management experience in logistics, distribution, or transportation operations.
  • Experience developing or implementing automation and material handling solutions.
  • Familiarity with optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi) and simulation modeling tools (e.g., Flexsim, Arena).
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
  • Support tools experience such as Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, and MS Access.
