As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you play a vital role in the Product Enablement team within SAP Sovereign Cloud.Your contributions to Sovereign Cloud will be pivotal in automating, scaling, and maintaining our cloud operationsat an exemplary level. You will be responsible not only for orchestrating containerized applications usingKubernetes but also for supporting regional Sovereign Cloud teams. This will involve demonstrating deploymenttechniques, assisting in troubleshooting, and providing guidance on updates and best practices.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Assist in the building out and managing deployment environments for net-new SAP products in the SAPSovereign Cloud portfolio.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and pipelines using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLabCI, or Azure DevOps.
• Support the automation of build, test, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability – includingtroubleshooting issues in the deployment pipelines.
• Ensure consistency and version control of configuration files and deployment scripts.
• Implement tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Splunk formonitoring and logging – including monitoring system performance and assisting in identifying and resolvingperformance bottlenecks.
• Support performance tuning and optimization efforts for SAP products.
• Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to support the integration and deployment of SAPproducts.
• Create and maintain documentation for deployment processes, configurations, and infrastructure.
• Proactively seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to enhance professional development.

What you bring

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science or comparable IT apprenticeship

• 1+ years of experienceinsoftware development, including first touchpoints with DevOps

• Experience withAWS, Azure or GCP is a must and first experience with Terraform is beneficial

• First experience in setting up, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Python, Go, and/or Bash is beneficial
• With your quality-aware mindset, you are able to proactively forge the path forward, innovatively solve any technical challenges, and strongly collaborate with other team members across the whole organization.
• You are fluent in English – both verbal and written.

This position can also be filled in part time.
