A Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use.
2. Accurately estimate project costs associated with implementing test solutions.
3. Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.
4. Verify products meet their functional requirements, including design verification and manufacturing screens. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products.
5. Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Test Engineers typically work in office, lab, and manufacturing facilities. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required.

SKILLS:

• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation.
• Proficiency in hardware and software development.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence design teams, vendors, and customers.

EXPERIENCE:

• More than 3 years of relevant experience in design, development, or manufacturing support. Proven ability to solve complex technical issues methodically. Demonstrated proficiency in NI LabView test application development.
• Experience with VISA and Passport processes.
• Willingness to travel for training.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline. Knowledge of Six Sigma or an equivalent statistical problem-solving methodology.
