Responsibilities

The Solution Engineer works closely with our Sales Engineers and plays an important role in anticipating customer test challenges and finding the best measurement solutions. Responsibilities include technical pre- and post-sales support, sales presentations at marketing events, and delivering customer training.

Typical customer requirements involve solutions for a wide range of signal analysis and electronic component testing applications, often involving cutting-edge technologies.

The customers include major accounts in the Wireless and Communication Industry, universities, and mid-sized to start-up companies worldwide. The position is based in our offices in Boeblingen or Oberhaching, Germany.

This role requires international cooperation with colleagues globally and our factories. You will serve as the technical interface between customers and Keysight's product development team.

A comprehensive technical training program will support your effective start in this role, along with developing professional skills suitable for a sales and services environment.

Customer visits will require frequent travel, exceeding 50% of work time.

Qualifications

You should possess a university degree in electrical/communications engineering, physics, or a related field, with at least 3 years of professional experience in digital and/or photonic test and measurement applications.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of digital and photonics test fundamentals and practical measurement applications.
  • Practical experience with oscilloscopes, Bit Error Rate Testers, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Logic and Protocol Analyzers, optical instruments, and similar measurement tools.
  • Understanding of digital communication signal generation, demodulation, and analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of high-speed digital PHY standards such as PCIe, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, MIPI, Ethernet, and OIF CEI.
  • Experience in developing and setting up test systems.
  • Programming skills in Python, Matlab, LabView, or C/C++/C# within a T&M environment.
  • Understanding of I/O connectivity and instrument drivers.
  • Proficiency in German and English languages.

Strong teamwork, customer focus, professional presentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. The role involves delivering customer training and seminars, requiring excellent teaching skills. The ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and work collaboratively across international teams is crucial.
