Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for OSS AI Startup

Accelerator at the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin, we are building the essential testing infrastructure for Gen AI to earn trust at scale. Tasks

1. Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP, supporting other cloud environments and on-premise setups.
2. Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and related tools.
3. Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for multi-service deployments (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
4. Deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters (GKE and self-managed) for backend, frontend, and worker components.
5. Design hybrid infrastructure supporting SaaS and on-premise enterprise installations.
6. Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, reliability, and observability standards are met.

Requirements

You will thrive if you have:

• Experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of managing infrastructure on GCP, AWS, Azure, or a combination.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and artifact deployment.
• Familiarity with Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM and networking.
• Experience supporting multi-environment and on-premise deployments.

Nice-to-have skills include hybrid cloud deployments, monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), GitOps practices, and an interest in AI infrastructure or MLOps.
