Your role

You will be part of the team overseeing the Network Engineering of Rivada’s carrier network. Your mission is to strengthen our team as a Network Engineer in the planning and design of the SDN-based control and management architecture and its implementation. You will ensure that the system is highly reliable, secure, fully automated, and optimized for service quality and platform utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Design of system-level SDN architecture
• Define interfaces to neighboring functions
• Derive implementation requirements for the SDN system
• Design subcomponents (e.g., controller) and define their requirements
• Support the implementation process
• Conduct make-or-buy evaluations and manage suppliers
• Provide technical guidance during development
• Support software development aligned with system needs
• Prototype and test solutions
• Lead testing and acceptance processes, contribute to system rollout
• Define test equipment, reporting tools, and visualization capabilities
• Drive continuous innovation
• Design path management algorithms for dynamic, complex networks
• Optimize and evolve SDN architecture
• Support network operations and develop operational scenarios
• Analyze and report on service performance and assurance
• Provide troubleshooting support

Candidate requirements

• Experience in system management in operational environments
• Degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or computer science
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in telecom environments
• At least 1 year working with SDN architectures
  • Strong system-level architecture expertise
  • Deep knowledge of SDN controllers and components
• Hands-on SDN controller development experience is a plus
• Experience with MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, LDP, and MPLS Traffic Engineering
• Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Spanning Tree Protocol
• Skills in software platforms and development
  • Agile methodologies
  • Virtualization and containers
• Fluency in English
