Mechanical and Integration Engineer (f/m/d)

For our SPB/SFX group we are looking for an:

1. Mechanical integration of flagship X-ray imaging detectors
2. Integration of new components and assemblies into our existing X-ray instrument
3. Detailed conceptual development of new components alongside instrumentation scientists
4. Analysis of instrumentation assembly cooling behaviours and mechanical stresses via FEA and simulation
5. Preparation of manufacturing specifications and documentation
6. Preparation of procurement documentation and communication with manufacturing companies
7. Travel to international sister facilities and scientific engineering conferences
8. Supervision and participation in mechanical and vacuum installations at the instrument

Minimum Requirements:

1. Degree and experience in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline
2. CAD experience in design and integration, ideally using NX and SolidWorks
3. Previous interaction or collaboration with advanced scientific facilities
4. Conceptual design of components and assemblies for advanced scientific installations
5. Usage of mechanical simulation platforms such as ANSYS
6. Knowledge of chiller based instrument cooling systems will be an advantage
