Field Service & Commissioning Engineer

A leading original equipment manufacturer business in Hamburg is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their business. Reporting to the Senior Service Operations Manager, the main function of this role is the day-to-day repair, maintenance and warranty works in the areas of electrical power distribution, power generation, hybrid technology & electric drive systems.

Other duties will include (but not limited to):

• Maintenance, repairs and warranty works in the areas of electrical power distribution, power generation, hybrid technology & electric drive systems.
• System testing and analysis on systems and equipment on site.
• Testing and acceptance of installation as well as the necessary adjustments.
• Supervision of sea trials and training of ship's crews.
• Presentation and hand over of equipment's systems to the ship owner, shipyard and the classification societies.
• Preparation of installation/service reports as well as feedback on technical changes/content to involved departments.
• Support and guidance of remote commissioning for other departments of the group when required.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within an engineering role working with electrical power generation, power distribution, hybrid technology & electric drive systems and knowledge in engineering and warranty works.

SPS skills are desirable but not compulsory.

The individual must enjoy dealing with a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong time management, along with strong engineering skills and excellent attention to detail.
