Job Description
In our Enterprise Operation Center (EOC), you will work in shifts around the clock to ensure the trouble-free operation of our complex IT systems.
You will work in a highly motivated EOC team that proactively observes our system landscape through sophisticated monitoring systems and initiates necessary steps to maintain control. Systems may be located in our data centres, at cloud providers, or across various global locations where TUI operates.
Your responsibilities include handling incidents independently, managing escalations, and accessing specialist teams for in-depth technical support when needed. You will also make system changes according to specifications to ensure safety and stability. The EOC team is based in Hanover with options for mobile working. Our team supports the entire TUI Group IT, working with internationally distributed specialist departments.
Your tasks also include:
- Supporting and monitoring our applications and services
- Managing IT production across all system platforms and environments used in the data centre
- Monitoring and troubleshooting job management and production schedules
- Operating and handling service management systems
- Monitoring and resolving faults in infrastructure systems such as network and building facilities, including data centre power supply and air conditioning
- Monitoring security systems (video surveillance, access control)
- Troubleshooting, developing, escalating errors, and performing problem tracking
- Creating and maintaining documentation
About You
- Relevant vocational qualifications, e.g., IT specialist in systems integration or similar experience gained on-the-job.
- This knowledge allows you to identify irregularities and ensure stable IT operations through proactive actions.
- You have an independent working style, excellent communication and team skills, a high sense of responsibility, and remain calm, flexible, and motivated during crises.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (good to very good).
- Willingness to work in 3 shifts.
- Relevant experience in Windows, Unix, Linux, network, storage systems, and various IT environments.
- Experience in job scheduling; familiarity with Automic / UC4 is an advantage.
- Experience in resource and workload management monitoring, preferably with CheckMK or Datadog.
- Good knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VLAN).
- Ideally, knowledge of operating/control consoles in UNIX, Linux, Windows, as well as database systems, internet services, and network structures.
- Experience in IT support and service management.
