It’s an exciting time to join us! RWE Supply & Trading has recently introduced a new cloud-based data analytics platform. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to expand our platform capabilities.

Using the latest technology, the Lead in Data (LiD) platform has transformed data search, sharing, transformation, and onboarding within our organization. Data is vital for trading, analysis, and support functions, and will become an even greater asset in the future.

You will leverage your expertise in C# and .NET to develop robust data services within the Mix system and help future-proof our architecture, especially in security and technology. Experience with AWS environments is essential.

Your future responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable back-end services and APIs using C# and .NET 8
• Implement data extraction and transformation logic within .NET environments
• Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and specific application logic as needed
• Work on the Market Data API, taking ownership of enhancements and liaising with business teams to understand new requirements
• Build processes and workflows supporting data transformation and tools for handling various data types
• Create frameworks for easy, fast, and self-service onboarding of data from different vendors and sources
• Join a global multidisciplinary team of Data and DevOps Engineers delivering platform features and improvements
• Work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on delivering value
• Be a proactive problem solver, working independently on solutions with a positive attitude
• Stay updated on new trends in Data Analytics and explore innovative solutions
• Collaborate with IT functions, especially within Data (Market Data IT, Embedded IT, etc.)
• Own the technical design of new use cases and ETL jobs, ensuring robustness, performance, availability, and maintainability
• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, including parsing, cleansing, and wrangling large datasets
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitLab
• Understanding of API creation and processes
• Experience onboarding energy data from providers to internal platforms and APIs
• Hands-on experience with AWS services like S3, Lambda, and EC2
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and improve existing designs
• Understand operational aspects like high availability, monitoring, security, and robustness
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
