As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon's Global Engineering services. We aim to shape the future of the Construction Industry by pushing boundaries and delivering high-quality buildings with safety, people, and sustainability at the core.
This role offers the opportunity to travel across Europe and other EMEA countries, with approximately 30% travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution, ensuring effective coordination and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain scope control and accelerate project progress through timely decision-making and issue resolution.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, influence outcomes, and manage risks.
- Oversee professional service providers to ensure competency and quality standards.
- Perform pricing reviews and negotiate costs with developers, contractors, and consultants.
- Estimate costs, manage due diligence, track schedules, and forecast project outcomes.
- Supervise the implementation of Amazon's safety standards and standards compliance.
- Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to meet project goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven project management experience from design to operation, including contract negotiations.
- Experience in packaging processing or logistical facilities is advantageous.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Europe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
- Experience across multiple construction disciplines.
- Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon's FC launches is preferred.
- Additional language skills such as French, Polish, or Arabic are advantageous.

You will lead and mentor cross-functional teams, manage project execution, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Your role involves contract negotiations, site validation, risk analysis, and ensuring project feasibility and compliance. Strong communication skills are essential.
