Functional area: Operations & Maintenance; Logistics / Operations / Shipping

Our Mar i ne & Log i stics department w i thin RWE Renewables i s looking for a Marine Expert to prov i de expert support on SOVs, CTVs, Jack Up Vessels and any other mar i ne operations to deliver and optimise operational activities across the Offshore Wind fleet.

  • Support the operational fleet as a centre of competence regarding vessels and marine operations with a focus on Service Operation Vessels (SOVs)
  • Lead a wide range of marine campaigns, such as scheduled maintenance campaigns using SOV s and major component exchange campaigns
  • Lead technical reviews and assessments of SOV-concepts and designs
  • Define standards , processes and consistent approaches across the portfolio for vessel surveys, vessel inspections (on-/off-hire etc.)
  • Manage the technical part of the procurement process by performing project management and driving the tender processes and negotiations
  • Manage marine contracts and perform active supplier management
  • Develop strategies for marine activities and track logistical performance
  • Execute vessel on hire surveys and other vessel inspections
  • Review risk assessments , method statements , lift plans and operating instructions
  • Coordinate internal and external parties such as scheduling, engineering , certification , marine coordination, HSSE , authorities , vessel suppliers, and marine warranty surveyor
  • Instruct clients reps and optimise marine operations across the fleet;
  • Lead special marine projects and conduct incident investigations

Your profile

  • Relevant marine background as Master Mariner, Technical Superintendant or Operations Manager, experience with service operation vessels (SOVs) required
  • Offshore wind experience required, vessel operator background beneficial (construction or maintenance)
  • Deep understanding and proven operational experience of all kinds of vessel operations such as walk-to-work , DP , lifting operations etc .
  • At least five years ' experience in marine operations
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
  • Structured thinking , proven ability to develop methods and procedures
  • Willingness to travel (UK/CE) and willingness to work offshore for short periods
