About Our Business Unit and Cluster
This role is part of the Western Europe Cluster within the Europe & Africa (EAF) Business Unit. The Cluster promotes and sells Club Med resorts, targeting individual (FIT) and corporate (MICE) clients through direct (web, call center) and indirect (trade) sales channels.
Job Overview
As the Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant for Club Med Germany, you will play a key role in the Western Europe Cluster's Finance team. Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager based in Belgium, you will oversee accounting operations for the German legal entities. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of Club Med in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, half-year, and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS and internal standards. Manage the monthly closing process, ensuring timely submission and accuracy. Prepare consolidated financial statements.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, corporation tax, and payroll. Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure adherence to best practices and timely reporting.
Accounts Payable/Receivable & Cash Management:
Manage AP/AR functions, cash flow, and bank reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
Collaborations:
Work closely with the Finance and Administration Manager to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll management. Collaborate with HQ on general accounting improvements.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on financial objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification is a plus.
Your Profile
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of IFRS; experience with French GAAP is a plus.
Skills:
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in German and English.
