Experienced Accountant
Summary
We are looking for an experienced accountant. The role involves being the key contact person for accounting matters, preparing financial statements, and handling various accounting tasks such as posting transactions, invoice verification, and cash management.
The ideal candidate will have a commercial training background with further qualification as a balance sheet and financial accountant, at least 5 years of experience, and knowledge of US GAAP as well as German HGB Standards.
What You Do
Key contact person for management in all accounting matters.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and bring specialist knowledge to projects outside of the company's day-to-day business.
Responsibilities
- Posting and monitoring of all business transactions in the general ledger and subsidiary ledger (including asset accounting).
- Initiation and monitoring of the invoice verification process.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and US GAAP and limited adjustments for US GAAP (no US GAAP knowledge required).
- Balance sheet management including preparation and monitoring of provisions.
- Cash management including bank accounting, cash flow forecasts, receivables management, and weekly payments.
- Responsible for statistical reporting.
- Preparation of advance sales tax returns and summary reports as well as coordination of the Bundesbank report.
- Payroll accounting and preparing the related reports, payments, etc.
- Coordination of the preparation of tax returns.
- Communication with auditors, tax advisors, tax authorities, and health insurance companies as well as support of the relevant audits.
- Participation in internal projects for process optimization.
- Close cooperation with the controlling team.
Requirements
- Commercial training with further training to become a balance sheet and financial accountant.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance and accounting.
- Good MS Office knowledge, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is an advantage.
- English spoken and written.
- Understanding of business contexts.
- Experience in payroll accounting is desirable.

- User knowledge of MS Dynamics and NetSuite desirable.
