Managing Director – DACH

Location: Germany

Industry: B2B Services - Healthcare

Reports to: Manging Director Europe

Travel: 40–60%

A leading European services company is seeking a strategic, results-driven Managing Director for its DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) operations. This is a confidential executive search for an experienced and ambitious leader to manage a €20M business with 400 employees and drive the transformation of the regional business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations and lead a cross-functional team of approximately 400 employees across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • P&L Ownership: Manage the business unit's full P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Transformation & Integration: Lead the post-merger integration of newly acquired companies, ensuring alignment of processes, systems, and teams.
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement: Lead lean initiatives, implement process improvements, and optimize operational workflows to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Strategic Account Management: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention. Drive new business development and manage key accounts.
  • Team Development: Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence while leading talent development and succession planning within the region.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: At least 5 years’ experience leading national field service or operations businesses with a proven track record of P&L ownership and business growth.
  • Industry Background: Experience in the cleaning, hygiene, or facility services sectors is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with strong expertise in B2B services, manufacturing, or other operational leadership roles will also be considered.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership in driving change management and team leadership, with the ability to build high-performing teams in challenging environments.
  • Lean Expertise: Deep understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies, with practical experience applying them to operational settings.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in German and English is required.
  • Resilience: Must have a resilient personality to navigate a demanding and evolving environment while maintaining focus on both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Travel Flexibility: Comfortable with 40–60% travel across the DACH region.
