The Medical Affairs Advisor is a key member of the Medical Affairs Hematology and Nephrology Team, providing scientific and medical leadership to develop an in-depth understanding of the relevant medical landscape concerning disease states and Alexion products. This role supports the development and implementation of long-term strategies, building sustainable medical affairs practices aligned with Alexion's overall strategy. The Medical Advisor collaborates with the medical hematology and nephrology teams to achieve local objectives and advance the global medical affairs mission to maximize patient outcomes by setting and continuously improving evidence-based standards of care.

The Medical Advisor develops expertise in the specific therapeutic area (TA) for internal and external stakeholders and acts as the medical expert for the TA within cross-functional teams, including support for marketing, regulatory affairs, market access, and HEOR.

The Medical Advisor reports to the Director of Medical Affairs Hematology & Nephrology.

You will be responsible for :

  1. Create and deliver medical presentations and trainings to various audiences and target groups.
  2. Provide objective and balanced medical/scientific information for both internal and external customers, including Medical Information activities.
  3. Support field and office staff regarding medical and scientific questions.
  4. Develop, implement, and support national key medical events such as symposia, standalone meetings, or Advisory Boards.
  5. Review advertising materials to ensure information and messaging are medically and scientifically accurate, relevant, and appropriate to the local medical practices.
  6. Formulate medical/scientific abstracts and publications.
  7. Support clinical operations in conducting global and local clinical studies.
  8. Assist with HTA activities and reimbursement applications locally, collaborating closely with market access teams, including preparing value dossiers for HTA processes.
  9. Maintain current knowledge of the therapeutic area by attending relevant national and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence and for personal education.

You will need to have :

  1. A relevant scientific degree (medical degree is a plus).
  2. Sufficient experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in a medical affairs role (minimum 3 years).
  3. Proven ability to communicate complex scientific data clearly in various settings (face-to-face, virtual, public presentations) and to diverse audiences, including top experts.
  4. Networking, planning, and management skills.
  5. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Willingness to travel.

We would prefer for you to have :

  1. Fluency in German and English.
  2. Experience in launching new products is advantageous.
  3. Specialization in the relevant therapeutic area is preferred but not essential.
