Meaningful Work From Day One

This role is accountable for developing a long-term partnership with key accounts and ensuring that these partnerships lead to strong and sustainable business results for all parties. The key deliverable of this role is an achievement of sales, gross profit, distribution objectives assigned to the channel.

The dedicated accounts will be managed directly by key account managers reporting to this role.

What You Can Expect

Strategically manages allocated accounts, budget and resources provided, yielding maximum effectiveness and impact

Works closely with the Senior National Off-Trade Manager and other internal stakeholders (e.g. Brand Management, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain) on development of business and portfolio strategies, yearly budgets and quarterly projections, trade terms, price structures, profit margins

Recommends actions to adapt to changes on a proactive basis

Develops a strong relationship with customers and understand what drives their decision making process

Facilitate account management by coordinating selling activities and customer interactions through effective leadership and communication with other areas to ensure appropriate customers’ needs are met

Ensure the execution of account plans including volume, promotional activity, visibility, logistics and financial information along with KPIs for measuring results

Observes and analyses market trends and competition to sharpen customer plans and to provide accurate bottom up forecasts in collaboration with the team

Negotiates and closes annual and seasonal commercial agreements with accounts

Works closely with Finance to manage annual budgets

Provides strong leadership and direction to a team of Account Managers

Supports the company’s sales planning, controlling of discounts spending and sales results, reporting and budgeting requirements and processes

What You Bring to the Table

At least 5 years FMCG experience in Key Account Management positions

Ideally experience in working with EDEKA or Rewe

Proven ability to build and establish an effective network and relationships

Significant, progressive sales experience covering a range of wholesale and retail environments, ability to quickly deduce customer and channel needs as well as the ability to unlock insights from data and use them to drive growth

Depth of experience in customer negotiations at a national level and sound knowledge of German retail environment

Self-starter with proven ability to identify issues and projects, plan and prioritize with demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects to completion by specific deadlines

Strong Business Acumen

Fluent in English and German
