With around 90 employees, the IT Service Center (ITS) provides the central ICT infrastructure for employees, students, and partners of the university. To provide optimal digital support for processes in all areas, the IT Service Center uses a wide range of applications that are designed, implemented, operated, and further developed by the Application Management department. In this context, our Communication and Information department is responsible for a wide range of IT services on redundant server systems, including the operation of SAP.

Your tasks will cover a broad spectrum in the area of SAP Basis, including:

1. Collaboration in the SAP Basis of the University of Kassel
2. Collaboration and coordination of SAP module administrators and key users in the specialist departments
3. Importing transports, notes, support packages
4. Central user and authorization maintenance
5. Collaboration in the working groups of the CCHH network in the Hesse-wide environment
6. IT support of the system interfaces
7. Planning, coordination, and control of work orders to the SAP hosting operator
8. Collaboration on projects in the SAP environment
9. User consulting, support, and documentation

We are looking for a person who combines professional competence, commitment, and team spirit and who meets the following requirements:

1. Completed studies (e.g. university of applied sciences/bachelor/diploma) or IT specialist with several years of professional experience with equivalent skills and experience in performing corresponding activities in a data center of a university or similar public institution or company
2. Very good knowledge of databases, e.g. MS SQL or SAP HANA
3. Very good knowledge of the administration and use of SAP systems, alternatively very good knowledge of the administration and use of Windows and Linux server systems
4. Willingness to undergo further training in SAP operations
5. Thorough and comprehensive knowledge and experience with the operating systems and services used in the server infrastructure of a larger data center
6. Good knowledge and corresponding experience in the use of scripting languages (Powershell, Batch)
7. Willingness to acquire the necessary specialist knowledge independently and on your own responsibility
8. Strong ability to work in a team, high willingness to communicate, commitment, and problem-solving skills
9. Good written and spoken German language skills, comparable to level B2 or better
