You will work closely with customers to design and implement complex mechatronic solutions.

Summary:Application Engineer (MAE) enhances sales and market share in North America, focusing on Motion Control products like Servo Drives, Motors, PLCs, HMIs, and more. They provide technical expertise during pre-sales, considering commercial factors, and support post-sales to ensure project success from inception to operation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical advice to sales, partners, and customers.
  • Create marketing content including tutorials.
  • Engage with control groups to stay updated on market trends.
  • Develop relationships with controls engineers.
  • Coordinate with North American teams for product and application sharing.
  • Support onsite prototype startups, including network configuration and device integration.
  • Maintain software application repositories.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback for product development.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support for customer issues.
  • Evaluate technical and commercial proposals.
  • Discuss and optimize machine performance with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with norms and regulations.
  • Identify and secure projects based on expertise.
  • Share knowledge to promote solutions.
  • Travel may be required for training, customer visits, or events.
  • Act as the technical interface during pre-sales.
  • Provide technical training and knowledge transfer.
  • Work with Technical Support on customer issues.

Experience / Education Preferred:

  • English required; Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents and respond effectively.
  • Experience with IEC-3, CODESYS, Rockwell, Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Omron Sysmac Studio, Python, C++, C#, LabVIEW.
  • Knowledge of EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP, IO-Link.
  • Understanding of motion control, PLCs, I/O design.
  • Ability to size and design servo applications.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics and CAD.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • 5-10+ years in project management, controls engineering, sales, or technical support in automation.
  • Experience in Festo is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
