We are seeking a PAM (CyberArk) Security & Access Management System Engineer to join our team at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany.

This pivotal role involves guiding, advising, and supporting the client’s security systems, along with engaging in diverse tasks that foster your specialization through research, curiosity, and self-motivation.

Starion Deutschland GmbH has secured a contract to provide Network and Information Security Engineering Services to EUMETSAT, focusing on developing an integrated, centralized approach for their Information Security Management System (ISMS), covering IT networks, operational ground segments, ICT solutions, and general services.

About the client and location

EUMETSAT is an international organization of 30 European member states responsible for monitoring weather, climate, and the environment via satellites. They play a crucial role in identifying potentially dangerous weather conditions affecting various industries.

Tasks and activities

The scope includes:

  1. Maintaining the CyberArk environment, including onboarding EUMETSAT ground segment facilities.
  2. Onboarding clients to patch management software using internal processes.
  3. Coordinating patching/downtime windows with system owners and internal teams.
  4. Participating in change management processes for patches and presenting changes in daily meetings.
  5. Performing patching and system hardening tasks.
  6. Assessing clients before/after patching and troubleshooting as needed.
  7. Writing automation scripts (Ansible) for system patching.

Skills and experience

Mandatory:

  1. Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  2. Experience in IT Security, Network Security, or System Administration.
  3. Vulnerability management and assessment experience.
  4. Expertise in Privileged Access Infrastructure, preferably CyberArk.
  5. Linux Server OS experience.
  6. Familiarity with Windows OS.
  7. Experience with syslog collection and tools (preferably syslog-ng).
  8. Proficiency with VMware virtualization.
  9. Experience with configuration automation tools like Ansible.
  10. OS patching experience (RedHat Satellite, Foreman, or Orcharhino).
  11. Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl).
  12. Strong infrastructure management and security best practices knowledge.
  13. Understanding of network protocols and storage subsystems.
  14. Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.
  15. Customer-focused communication skills.
  16. Fluent in English, written and spoken.
