Disciplinary and professional leadership of the department and its personnel
Accountability for underwriting decisions and profit and loss (P&L) performance of HDI’s global Marine portfolio, including complex risk segments such as automotive, commodity, and project cargo accounts (“Global Risk”)
Underwriting of new and existing customers as part of a co-underwriting process together with the worldwide HDI Global SE units
Further development of the business strategy within the area of responsibility, e.g., underwriting policy and risk appetite
Contribution to cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at establishing Underwriting Excellence in the Marine line of business
Global coordination of professional training and continuing education programs for Marine Underwriters, with focus on complex risks
Your profile:
Successfully completed university degree in business administration or law or equivalent professional experience
Extensive experience in international underwriting of industrial risks in marine insurance
Experience in a leadership position desirable
Strong communication skills in conducting talks and negotiations
Sociability and ability to work in a team, ability to work under pressure even in time-critical situations
Very good knowledge of the MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Business fluent in written and spoken German and English, other foreign languages are welcome
