Solution Architect - IFRS17 XDIS (m/f/d)*

This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology, which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.

The Senior Project Manager in the Transformation / Strategic Planning department is responsible for driving the implementation of the Purple Transformation Program and responsible for the continuous development of the IT organization according to market trends and business needs. This role involves effective collaboration with stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the transformation efforts.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Solution Architect who will be part of the IFRS17 architecture team.

Your Job

  • Design, build and run technology solutions to assure Munich Re’s IFRS17 closing process
  • Map business requirements to technical requirements and systems in IFRS17
  • Be accountable for the system solution design
  • Ensure that the solution design is aligned with the Enterprise Architecture patterns and architectural standards and ensure that it fulfills NFRs
  • Ensure a compliant and secure system design according to Munich Re’s IT norms
  • Support the definition of the technical roadmap
  • Drive the reduction of technical debt
  • Increase the automation level within the system and within the development processes
  • Support the technical design process including concept work and overall decision making
  • Define and design the functional systems and guide the work of development teams
  • Manage the lifecycle of the technology stack and define the infrastructure blueprint
  • Support the resolution of operational problems
  • Collaborate in a global team with huge interdisciplinary interaction

Your Profile

  • University degree in computer science or comparable qualifications
  • Several years of experience in developing and designing ETL and Data Warehouse processes
  • In-depth knowledge of the overall software development and produce lifecycle around ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling and reporting
  • Strong experience with database technologies and procedural database programming in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL or comparable platforms
  • Previous experience with SAS Software including SAS DI Studio and good understanding of financial closing processes like IFRS17 are an advantage
  • Solid knowledge in one or more areas of cloud computing architecture (preferably in Microsoft Azure), .NET/ASP.NET Core, C#, Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or Appian are a plus
  • Provable track record of successful implementations that delivered business value
  • Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
  • Experience in managing expectations when balancing alternatives against technical and financial constraints
  • High degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks
  • Fluent command of Business English
