Our Engineering (ENG) team comprises highly motivated and experienced project engineers who translate Covestro's global business strategy into tangible assets. They develop and execute investment projects and oversee large global contractors.

Role: Project Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Project Engineer, you will manage multiple small and medium-sized single-site capital investment projects, ensuring safety, cost control, quality, and schedule adherence to meet project goals. You will also serve as a discipline lead in large capital investment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage capital investment projects, focusing on safety, costs, quality, and scheduling to achieve project objectives.
2. Coordinate all project team members throughout all phases until mechanical completion and commissioning support.
3. Perform standard project management tasks including scope management, cost control, schedule compliance, risk mitigation, quality assurance, and reporting.
4. Represent projects to the Steering Committee and stakeholders.
5. Develop engineering, execution, and contracting strategies to integrate engineering, procurement, and construction inputs into the project concept.
6. Manage ongoing risks to ensure project performance.

Qualifications:

You hold a university degree (University of Applied Sciences or Technical College, Dipl.-Ing., or Master) in Process, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or possess another relevant scientific or technical qualification with extensive experience in investment projects.

You have industry or engineering company experience, preferably as a project leader or engineering manager.

You demonstrate strong leadership, management, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to lead engineering efforts.

Experience with scheduling and cost planning is essential.

Fluent written and spoken German and English skills are required to complete your profile.
