Our Team :

This department is part of the Global Engineering SpeCare organization and supports the EMEA region to deliver capital projects. Our main mission is to :

  • Lead all Tiers 1 & 2 Projects & Programs
  • Lead strategic projects from Feasibility to Commissioning, Qualification & Validation in a “hybrid organizational mode” with Sites to ensure a robust handover after startup.
  • Build a robust organization for each Tiers 1 & 2 Project, mixing expertise & leadership from Sanofi Local & Global, aligned with Cluster & Site head.

Main responsibilities :

Lead Tier 1 projects exceeding 15 M€ for a cluster of sites in the EMEA region, including locations in Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Algeria, and Egypt.

  • Your first mission will be managing a Tier 1 compliance project at our Insulin Campus in Frankfurt (ICF), focusing on implementing the latest BLA and Regulatory requirements in our DS and DP facilities.
  • Identify appropriate staffing for the project organization in collaboration with the Site Engineering Head.
  • Ensure HSE and Quality standards are implemented & validated before execution, focusing on design-to-cost solutions.
  • Define the contract model for all key steps from Detail Engineering to C&Q.
  • Collaborate transversally with Global functions & Sites to define optimized solutions for each key project step.
  • Implement Project Controls & End-to-End Planning with appropriate SOPs.
  • Leverage Global Engineering expertise & know-how to support successful project delivery.
  • Ensure transversal alignment and governance with Site leadership teams for efficient decision-making.
  • Anticipate, confirm, and communicate project risks across the site.
  • Create & track action plans to manage risks throughout the project.
  • Assist Site teams (Operations & Quality) & MSAT during PQ & validation activities before full handover.
  • Manage project & maintenance activities.

Ensure risk analysis, FMEA, including Digital for critical assets, is deployed during the project to ensure a relevant preventive & predictive maintenance plan before start-up.

  • Ensure asset reliability and maintainability by design.
  • Consider project & sustainability as key inputs.

Ensure that CO2 emissions, energy, and utilities are minimized by design, aiming for zero emissions in new buildings or extensions (including HVAC).

About you

  • Experience: Over 10 years in senior engineering, managing medium to large projects, with regional responsibility; extensive experience in engineering & technical management within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills: Effective collaboration across organization levels; managing complex projects; demonstrated leadership with successful international team management.
  • Education: PhD or Master's degree in Engineering or Science with Project Management background.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written.
