Country Sales Manager (f/m/d) Institutional Germany - Foodservice & Hospitality

Your Responsibilities

  • Lives and promotes the “One Ecolab” culture and values internally and vis-à-vis customers, behaves with integrity and creates a positive and inclusive cross-divisional and cross-functional working culture for all associates
  • Establishes an effective country business strategy and annual plan. Focusses on aligning “gain – grow – retain” customer approach with European division and “One Ecolab” business strategy to optimize results. Owns and seeks to maximize P&L
  • Proactively advises senior management in division and market on opportunities to maximize business relationships or improve effectiveness across internal value chain
  • Leads employees in the area of responsibility in accordance with supervisor and corporate guidelines; sets appropriate individual objectives aligned with business strategy and targets; drives DMs’ sense of accountability for target achievement
  • Develops talent by providing regular performance feedback, coaching and motivation; plans and supports implementation of DM training; assesses employees’ strengths and development needs and establishes personal development and succession plans; holds constructive career development discussions and ensures appropriate follow-up
  • Implements effective district management, planning, evaluation and continuous improvement on a regular basis to enable achievement of sales and margin plans
  • Coordinates sales and service activities with corporate account and distribution management, marketing and technical service; drives market share gain of street business which ensuring execution of corporate account gains/ service commitments
  • Involves DMs in business development process and supports DMs in managing key customer relationships, cultivates and maintains effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts
  • Ensures optimization of contribution margin in product/ customer portfolio; proactively supports and executes pricing, innovation and product penetration targets
  • Encourages team to find new ways of doing business, improving One Ecolab cross-divisional customer solutions and increasing profitable sales; fosters continuous improvement of sales processes, both internal and customer-facing
  • Controls the budget and ensures the necessary resources for the success of the team
  • Reports key financial and team performance data (actual and forecast)

Your Profile

  • Min. 7-10 years of experience in a business-to-business field sales environment, ideally 5+ years of management experience directing multiple field sales professionals, including corporate account experience
  • University degree in business-related subject strongly preferred
  • Proven sales track record with strong sense of accountability in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy
  • Applicable product & industry knowledge (customer solutions, technology, etc.)
  • Strong commercial acumen and finance skills, good understanding of P&L drivers
  • Project management and planning skills;
  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Customer relationship management software, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Executive presence to influence senior decision-makers
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, coaching and training skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% within the specific geography, occasionally outside
  • Fluency in English and German
