Job Description:

As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within Amazon Global Engineering services, focusing on innovative, scalable solutions that prioritize safety, people, and sustainability.

This role offers travel opportunities across Europe and other EMEA countries, with approximately 30% travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage complex industrial projects from site selection to design completion, permits, and contract execution, collaborating with design teams and stakeholders.
2. Control project scope, drive decisions, clear blockers, and escalate issues appropriately.
3. Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, influence outcomes, and oversee service providers.
4. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and manage project estimates, due diligences, scheduling, and forecasting.
5. Supervise safety program implementation and uphold high standards of accountability.
6. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with demonstrable experience in project management, construction, or development roles.
• Experience managing projects from design to operation, including contracts negotiation.
• Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities preferred.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, or supply chain fields.
• Experience in multiple construction disciplines, including automation and robotics.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
• Knowledge of BIM and participation in Amazon FC launches is a plus.
• Additional language skills such as French, Polish, or Arabic are advantageous.

A Day in the Life:

You will oversee Amazon's construction projects, improve processes, and lead cross-functional teams. Your tasks include contract negotiations, site validation, risk analysis, stakeholder management, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. Effective communication and influence are essential to resolve issues and drive project success.
